AT least two Guyanese are billed to perform at “Caribbean Comedy Explosion” in Barbados tomorrow night.  Lyndon ‘Jumbie’ Jones is looking forward to representing Guyana when the best of his kind from Jamaica, Trinidad, St. Lucia and a host of other countries come together at the Garfield Sobers Gymnasium to perform.  “I’m natural, so I am going to do

what I normally do,” Jones told The Buzz on Thursday in an invited comment. He further pointed out: “As much as I am going on my own, I will be representing Guyana.” Jones’ intentions seem to be in keeping with the advertisement from the promoters which in part says: “Get ready to fall off your chairs with the Caribbean’s kings and queens of comedy and drama.” Jones, who will perform alongside fellow Guyanese Odessa Primus, has always called on the Guyanese populace to be more supportive of their local artistes, and has not failed to lament the lack of such.     “In my mind, there’s never that full support; it’s always a big challenge to get support. But people need to realise that when they support us, they are supporting local.”
