MEET 12-year-old Martin King, popularly known as ‘Messi’. He didn’t get the name because the Argentine is his favourite player, but for his style of play which is almost identical to that of the Barcelona star as a youth.

King won Milo Ultimate soccer dream competition when he ‘out-skilled’ his competitors and is now the only Guyanese in Spain with other youths from around world to train with the stars of FC Barcelona at Camp Nou.
The player is known for his exceptional football skills. He had dominated the COURTS/Petra Organisation Pee Wee tournament with Enterprise Primary.

King is a member of the Fruta Conquerors Football Club; a club known for its investment in youth football and for providing some of Guyana’s top players at all levels.
Chronicle Sport wishes young Martin King the best and is happy he will be fulfilling his dream of meeting his icon Lionel Messi.
