A route 45 minibus caught fire on the Eccles Public Road, East Bank Demerara on Tuesday morning in the midst of heavy traffic.
According to reports reaching the Guyana Chronicle, the bus was heading up the East Bank road from Georgetown when the driver and two other occupants heard a strange noise emanating from the bus.
The Guyana Chronicle understands that the driver and others exited the vehicle and attempted to unplug the batter lug when the minibus burst into flames.
No one was injured and the minibus was completely destroyed. Residents formed a bucket brigade and extinguished the fire.
