GENERAL MANAGER

Job Specification:-
The General Manager is primarily responsible for driving and developing all aspects of the business in line with strategic, commercial and operational goals and objectives.

The role requires vision, leadership and professionalism to the highest standard to maximize profitability and return-on-investment.

The secondary responsibility is to identify and develop profitable and sustainable new business opportunities and revenue streams.

These will be aligned to the Company’s Core Creative and Production Services ensuing customer expectations can be managed in line with commercial strategy and customer service charter.

To fulfill the job purpose, the General Manager will be required to manage the performance of him/herself as well as all members of the team inside and outside of office hours, ensuring adherence to health and safety, security, quality, service and productivity standards at all times.

Job Responsibilities:

• Develop and maintain a professional, flexible and focused team which will maintain business growth through highly efficient, productive and creative services.

• Target excellence through continuous improvement tracked and measured on a month-to-month basis, ensuring actions are rigorously implemented throughout the organization.

• Define best working practices’ to yield the most cost efficient, quality effective creative and production processes and constantly review to improve performance.

• Establish and implement company business and marketing plans and customer service charter to communicate the Company’s value proposition/mission statement to the team, customers, prospects and suppliers.

• Sustainably grow company revenue, profitability and market share through new business development and existing account growth in line with monthly and quarterly targets agreed with the Board of Directors.

• Develop strong and valuable commercial, operational, strategic relationship for Guyana National Newspapers Limited.

• Create accurate and regular board reports detailing commercial, operational and strategic performance with revenue and profitability forecasts for the Company’s existing and prospective account bases.

• Ensure that essential, fundamental financial and commercial disciplines are in place throughout and that they are effectively monitored and constantly reviewed.

• Review Financial Statements, Sales and Activity Reports and other performance data to measure productivity and goal achievement and to determine areas requiring cost reduction and program improvement.

• Direct and coordinate the Company’s Financial and Budgetary activities to fund operations and maximize the return on capital and resource investment.

• Establish and implement departmental policies, goals, objectives and procedures in compliance with corporate governance and direction.

• Ensure all team members understand the goals and values of the Company and develop and maintain a working environment where respect, enthusiasm and commitment are recognized and rewarded.

PRE-REQUISITES
Post graduate management, business and or, journalism/communication qualifications and a minimum of seven years management/senior supervisory experience within a media agency.

SALARY
This position is on GY salary scale 14 ($209,661 – $497,058)[/vc_column_text][/vc_column][vc_column width=”1/3″][vc_widget_sidebar sidebar_id=”td-default”][/vc_column][/vc_row]
