AN eight-year-old was killed in a road accident yesterday morning at Land of Canaan, East Bank Demerara, when she reportedly attempted to cross the road.

Police reported that at about 07:40 hrs, yesterday, a fatal accident occurred at the Land of Canaan Public Road, EBD, which resulted in the death of pedestrian Gabriella Davidson of Land of Canaan.

Investigations have revealed that the child attempted to cross the road and was struck down by a motor vehicle. She died while receiving treatment at the Diamond Diagnostic Centre, EBD.
The driver of the motor vehicle is in police custody assisting with investigations.
