THIRTY-SEVEN-YEAR-OLD, Jermaine Marshall is the person whose body was discovered in Le Repentir Cemetery on Tuesday afternoon.

Early yesterday morning the Guyana Chronicle was able to confirm that the former North Georgetown Secondary School student and father of one was identified by his brother and sister-in-law who were watching a TV newscast on Tuesday evening.
It was also communicated to this publication that the post-mortem examination (PME) performed on the body found that he had died as a result of pesticide poisoning. Yesterday afternoon the police sent out a press release confirming the earlier information this newspaper had disclosed.
A relative yesterday, in East La Penitence, related that the man resided at Soesdyke and has a daughter. The relative said that the man’s child does not live with him nor is he still in a relationship with his “child mother.”
Marshall who is the eldest of seven children was contracted by Digicel as a regional coordinator for the Schools’ Football Championship as a coach and had been performing in that capacity up to the time of his demise.
This newspaper was told that Jermaine was last seen by his brother on Monday afternoon and later that night by his sister. The relative said that the man appeared to be in good spirits then and no one knew that he might have had something bothering him.
The disclosure of the post-mortem results that the man died by ingesting pesticide confirms the suspicion of at least one police rank who indicated to this newspaper on Tuesday that the man appeared to have committed suicide.
There were no marks of violence on the body when the discovery was made and there were no small items or even a wallet in his possession.
His pocket was turned out which suggested that whoever discovered the body might have riffled his pocket before tipping off the police to the presence of the corpse in Le Repentir.
