Unidentified body of man found in proximity of Rupert Craig Highway


The dead man’s body being examined by a police rank
THE body of an unidentified man was yesterday removed by police ranks, from the side of the Rupert Craig Highway, in the vicinity of Turkeyen, Greater Georgetown.

Reports reaching this newspaper said, that the body, which was unidentified up to press time, bore visible wounds and other signs pointing to a pssible hit and run accident.

The body of the man, who appeared to be in his late 50s or 60s, was discovered at about 08:00 hours yesterday and was later removed by police ranks.

It was transported to the Georgetown Public Hospital mortuary, to await identification and post mortem examination.

The dead man was clad in a blue and burgundy checkered shirt, a light green pants and a pair of heavy duty brown boots.

Police said the man is of African descent and investigations into the circumstances surrounding the man’s death are being conducted.
