THE Summit of the Americas got underway on Friday the Guyanese President had a major role to play when he presented the Caribbean Community’s position to United States President, Barack Obama.
My understanding is that the Guyanese leader spoke of the impact of international trade decisions on small economies and urged that the US have a better understanding of the Caribbean’s peculiarities and also to lend support to the hemisphere’s poorest – Haiti.
President Jagdeo has indeed gone a step further than leaders of the past by bringing recognition to this country.
Keep up the good work, Mr. President!
