FISH vendor Bruce Sudin, of Lot 32 Agricola Public Road, East Bank Demerara, accused of stealing electronics from his cousin, was ordered to post $100,000 bail yesterday.That was after he pleaded not guilty to the offence before Chief Magistrate Priya Sewnarine-Beharry.
Particulars of the offence said, between April 16 and 18, on Agricola Public Road, he stole one pioneer CD deck and one DVD set, together worth $151,000, property of Laikhram Sankar.
Police Inspector Michael Grant, prosecuting, said the defendant and virtual complainant are cousins and reside at the same address.
The Prosecutor said Sankar, an electrician left the articles mentioned in the charge intact at his home on April 16 and went to conduct business.
On his April 18 return, he made checks and discovered that the things were missing.
He made a report to the Police and, after an investigation was carried out, the defendant was arrested and charged.
The Prosecutor did not raise any objection to the grant of pre-trial freedom and the case was postponed to May 16.
