WESLEY Ferdinand, a labourer of Lot 127 Sparendaam, East Coast Demerara was yesterday ordered to post $60,000 bail on a charge of stealing a push cart and other items. He appeared before Chief Magistrate Priya Sewnarine-Beharry and pleaded not guilty to the offence, particulars of which said it was committed between March 13 and 18 in Georgetown.
Other details of the allegation said the defendant stole, from Virginia Bernard, the cart, three coolers and a quantity of non-alcoholic beverages, together valued $93,145.
Police Inspector Michael Grant, prosecuting, did not object to the grant of pre-trial freedom and the case was postponed to April 25.
