KINGSTON, Jamaica (CMC) – Fast bowler Jerome Taylor could be in doubt for the West Indies tour of England.
The spearhead of the regional side’s attack will have to undergo a fitness test before he can be cleared to join the squad which left for England on Wednesday.
“Paul Campbell, president of the Jamaica Cricket Association and David Cameron, vice-president of the WICB, will arrange a fitness test for him,” leading cricket website Cricinfo quoted team manager Omar Khan as saying. “And once he is okay, he will be expected to join the team by April 27.”
Injury ruled the 24-year-old Taylor out of the final Test against England last month and also forced him to miss the five-match One-Day International series.
Taylor has already taken 79 wickets in 26 Tests along with 84 scalps in 56 One-Day Internationals.
West Indies will play two Tests and three ODIs on their brief tour of England.
