A MIXED jury at the Demerara Assizes yesterday disagreed on a verdict of murder in respect of accused Charles Woolford.

Woolford, represented by Mr. Peter Hugh, was accused of murdering Latoya Woolford on February 8, 2009. It is said that the accused had fatally stabbed the woman in the abdomen.
Following the jury’s disagreement on a verdict, Justice Navindra Singh remanded the accused to prison with directions that he should face a retrial at the next session.
