DELLON Morgan, a graphic designer of Lot 149 D’Anrade Street, Newtown, Georgetown, was also denied bail on Monday, when he appeared before Chief Magistrate Priya Sewnarine-Beharry on charges of unlawful possession of firearm and ammunition. He pleaded not guilty to both allegations which said, on Saturday, January 25, at D’Abreau Street, also in Newtown, he had one Luger pistol and four live rounds of 9mm ammunition, without being a holder of a firearm licence.
Police Inspector Michael Grant, prosecuting, said ranks were on patrol duty when they saw the defendant walking on the road with a small black plastic bag in his hand.
He was stopped and a search was carried out on his person when the gun with ammunition was found in the bag, along with a number plate PHH 4456.
The objection to pretrial freedom was upheld, on the ground that the remanded prisoner also has a pending robbery case for which he was previously on bail.
Morgan will now have to remain in jail until February 20.
