The Women’s Affair Bureau, in collaboration with the Ministry of Labour, Human Rights and Social Security, last evening released balloons outside St. Andrew’s Kirk on High Street as they remembered all the women killed through the scourge of domestic violence.

This followed a candle light vigil organized by the Bureau and with participants including First Lady Deolatchmee Ramotar and Minister Jennifer Webster. The symbolic release of the white balloons brought the curtain down on sixteen days of activities to mark the International Day for the Elimination of Violence Against Women celebrated on November 25.
