THE Region Three Private Sector Inc. (R3PSInc) has congratulated young archer Aalim Khan, a resident of Region Three, on winning the Recurve Beginner Under-15 Men’s category at the 2026 Caribbean Development Championship and Caribbean Championship.
Head of R3PSInc, Halim Khan, praised the young athlete’s achievement, calling it a proud moment for the region and for Guyana.
The championship, hosted by Archery Guyana (ARGUY) at Providence, ran from October 21 to 25, 2026, and brought together young archers from across the Caribbean.
Aalim Khan led the field with 497 points after 60 arrows, finishing 47 points ahead of Jamaica’s Nathaniel Reid, who scored 450. St. Vincent and the Grenadines’ Dreden Lewis took third with 377. Khan also recorded six 10s and two Xs on his way to victory.
“I extend heartfelt congratulations to Aalim on this outstanding achievement. He has shown that hard work, discipline and focus can take our young people to the top of regional competition. His success brings pride to Region Three and to all of Guyana, and we encourage the business community to support the development of young athletes like him.” said Halim Khan.
The R3PSInc head noted that sporting success at such a young age reflects the importance of community and private sector backing for youth development. He called on businesses, schools and civic groups to invest in sports programmes that give young people opportunities to compete and grow.
Competing on home soil against athletes from Jamaica and St. Vincent and the Grenadines, Aalim Khan held his nerve in a field that showcased the region’s rising archery talent. His win in the beginner category is a promising sign for the future of the sport in Guyana.
R3PSInc, which advocates for the business community in Region Three, said it remains committed to supporting initiatives that uplift young people and strengthen the region’s profile.
