In the long interval

when meteors became insignia,

and other petroglyphs lined the hillside

traditions nurtured by humanism rather than shamanism

became the order of the day

And whilst guitar prowess connotes individualism

your love for the common man and his persona

will forever inspire the hopes and aspirations of the oppressed

So much for Columbus and his mythologies

Your character and love for the people will endure forever

Nature’s work of art anchored in granite must endure
