Police issue wanted bulletin for suspect in fatal Issano bar stabbing

THE Guyana Police Force has issued a wanted bulletin for Mark Griffith, called “Skull,” a 31-year-old miner of Canje Village, Berbice, who is being sought in connection with the murder of Shawn Abrams at 14 Miles Backdam, Issano, Middle Mazaruni River, Region Seven.
According to reports, the victim was a 36-year-old miner from Charity, Essequibo Coast, who was killed during an altercation with another miner at a bar in the Issano area.
Police say Abrams was drinking with three friends and the 31-year-old suspect from Canje, Berbice, when a disagreement broke out between the two men, which escalated into a scuffle.
One of Abrams’ friends reportedly stepped in to separate the pair but then noticed blood stains on Abrams’ vest. Abrams walked a short distance away before collapsing and was found bleeding heavily. He died at the scene.
The suspect fled the area following the incident, and police who responded found Abrams’ body in front of the counter of the business place where the altercation occurred. A search for the suspect has been ongoing since the incident.
The wanted bulletin describes Griffith as a 31-year-old whose last known address is Canje Village, Berbice.
The Guyana Police Force is asking the public for assistance in locating Griffith. Anyone with information regarding his whereabouts is urged to contact the nearest police station, call 911, or use any of the following numbers: 227-1611, 268-2328/268-2329, 226-3411, 225-8196, or 227-1159.
