CHANDRANIE Persaud is a very industrious and resourceful educator who chooses to utilise her free time during the August vacation period to earn an extra income by papering books for an affordable fee.
She offers busy parents a reliable and pocket-friendly option to help make back-to-school preparations less time-consuming and hassle-free.

Persaud told the Guyana Chronicle that parents can drop off the books and return for them when they have completed their errands or their work day.
“If you’d like, I can also create a matching eye-catching Facebook flyer in your preferred colors,” she said.
Persaud, 35, related that the idea was born when she started papering books for her pupils free of charge during her free time.
Her mother later suggested that she do it as a side job so she can earn some extra money. She embraced her mother’s suggestion and that is how the small business came into being.
Persaud provides all the raw materials, including labels, but customers have the option of bringing their own paper, books and labels.
The cost to paper and label a dozen small exercise books is just $3000.

Persaud told the Guyana Chronicle that she launched her small business, Desi Delights, five years ago from her home in Shell Road, Kitty, Georgetown, where she also has a catering business that prepared sweet treats for various occasions.
Persaud added that she is also a dancer of classical, Indian and Bollywood music and has been a part of various dance groups. The educator explained that she has been dancing since she was five years old. These days she is a freelancer and would like sponsorship to visit India to have that cultural experience.
She has been teaching at Stella Maris Primary School for the past 13 years, a profession that she is very passionate about.
Persaud related that she loves teaching because she gets to see her pupils grow academically and seeing the fruits of her labour is very rewarding.
She teaches Grades Five and Six and finds joy molding young minds so they can grow up to realise their dreams of becoming career-driven professionals ready to take on the world of work.
Persaud is also very artistic, crafty and creative. She makes flash cards and uses her time to do a lot behind the scenes. She told this publication that the August holiday period is the ideal time to make an extra dollar.
