THE Chief of Defence Staff, Brigadier Omar Khan, MSS, and the officers and ranks of the Guyana Defence Force extend congratulations to Lieutenant Colonel John Mohanlall on his successful completion of the United States Army War College Resident Education Programme.
Lieutenant Colonel Mohanlall is the first GDF officer to graduate from this prestigious programme. Upon completion of the programme, Lieutenant Colonel Mohanlall was awarded a Master of Strategic Studies degree and designated a Senior Service College Graduate.
Conducted at Carlisle Barracks, Pennsylvania, the programme provides advanced professional military education at the strategic level. It prepares senior military officers, government officials and international fellows for leadership, command and advisory responsibilities.
During the programme, Lieutenant Colonel Mohanlall completed graduate-level coursework and strategic research. His studies addressed national security, military research, defence management, joint operations and international affairs, with a focus on complex national, regional and global security challenges.
This achievement marks an important stage in Lieutenant Colonel Mohanlall’s professional career and adds to the GDF’s growing pool of officers with advanced strategic expertise.
The knowledge, analytical skills and professional relationships acquired through the programme will support the force’s work in strategic planning, defence management and institutional advancement.
