SCOTIABANK Guyana is expanding its digital banking capabilities, with new self-service and online features aimed at making financial transactions faster, more convenient and accessible to customers.
The bank said it has invested over the past year in digital capabilities, streamlined processes and self-service solutions across its retail and business banking channels as part of its ongoing digital transformation.
Among the latest enhancements are updates to the Scotia Caribbean App and Scotia OnLine platforms, which now allow new customers to open accounts online without visiting a branch.
Customers can also receive email alerts when deposits are credited to their accounts, while account personalisation features allow users to customise account names for easier management.
Another addition is a lock and unlock function for debit cards, giving customers greater control over card security in real time.

Scotiabank said the expanded digital services are already having an impact, with digital adoption reaching 40 per cent and more than 90 per cent of transactions now being completed through digital channels.
The bank has also rolled out next-generation Intelligent Deposit Machines, providing customers with 24-hour access to selected banking services.
The machines allow customers to make deposits, transfers and bill payments and service loans, while envelope-free deposits, near real-time access to funds and shorter transaction times are expected to improve the overall banking experience.
For business customers, Scotiabank is modernising payment acceptance through unmanned kiosk technology and a proprietary application designed to facilitate fast and secure self-service transactions. The bank said funds are credited within 24 hours, helping businesses reduce waiting times and improve operational efficiency.
Scotiabank has also upgraded its ScotiaConnect online business banking platform with a more intuitive interface for commercial customers.
Country Head of Scotiabank Guyana, Nafeeza Gaffoor, said the bank’s focus is on making it easier for customers to conduct their business.
“We are focused on making it easier for our clients to do business with us,” Gaffoor said, adding that the combination of digital innovation and streamlined processes is intended to deliver faster, more convenient and reliable banking solutions.
She said the enhancements are designed to meet the evolving needs of individuals and businesses across Guyana.
Scotiabank said it will continue to expand modern banking solutions aimed at reducing reliance on in-branch services, improving turnaround times and providing customers with greater access to banking services.
The bank said step-by-step guides for its digital banking services are available through its online platforms.
