Public Service Ministry partners with Coursera to launch online upskilling initiative

THE Ministry of Public Service, Government Efficiency and Implementation, in partnership with global online learning platform Coursera, has launched a new capacity-building initiative aimed at upskilling public servants and citizens across Guyana.
The collaboration offers a curated suite of online professional development courses designed to enhance workforce capabilities, improve job performance, and support lifelong learning. Participants can complete self-paced coursework from top international universities and corporations, earning globally recognised credentials upon completion.
The programme focuses on critical skill areas needed to modernise governance and foster career development. Key course subjects cover digital and data analytics, project management, leadership, administrative skills, and modern communication tools.
Government officials emphasised that providing access to flexible, high-quality training is central to creating an efficient and adaptable public service. The flexible structure allows learners across all administrative regions, including remote communities, to access material from any location via mobile devices or computers.
Interested citizens and public sector workers can enroll by scanning the official registration QR codes provided on ministry channels or by visiting the official portal at mps.gov.gy/coursera
