THE Customs Anti-Narcotic Unit (CANU) has seized 28.392 kilograms of cannabis during an intelligence-led operation conducted between Calcutta Village and Ross Village, West Coast Berbice.

According to CANU, officers carried out the operation after receiving information that led them to the area, where the quantity of narcotics was discovered.

Andre Abel was arrested during the operation and escorted to CANU Headquarters along with the seized cannabis.

The agency said investigations into the matter are ongoing as efforts continue to determine the circumstances surrounding the seizure and identify any other persons who may be involved.
