TD Young Wickets is coming to Winnipeg, MB on July 26, 2026, for a free one-day cricket clinic to help kids learn the game of cricket through fun activities, simple drills, and easy gameplay led by certified coaches.

Players can expect to learn the key basics of the game, from batting to bowling, through easy to play drills followed by a mock match to show off their skills in a game setting.

To ensure the players are given the best introduction to the game, international players and coaches, former England player Liam Plunkett and Corné Dry will take charge of the clinic and will be supported by local coaches.

According to a release from the organisers, players will leave the clinic with everything they need to continue to play the game at home, in the park, or even at the beach with a TD Quick Kit and quick start guide.

The release further pointed out that spots are limited and would-be aspirants are asked to don’t miss their chance to sign up.

The organisers also pointed out that “to ensure a safe and enjoyable experience, we require a parent or legal guardian to accompany each participant throughout the clinic and be present for the full length of the experience. Seating and refreshments will be provided.”

“The clinic is rain or shine, so please dress accordingly and bring the following: comfortable shoes, t-shirt, active wear: shorts or pants, hat, sunscreen and sun protection, rain coat (if needed), water bottle, snacks (if needed)

“In the event of forecasted severe weather (or other unfavourable conditions), the clinic will be relocated or as a last resort, cancelled. A decision will be made a minimum of 24 hours prior to the clinic and will be communicated to all registrants via email.”
