BANKS DIH Limited, on Thursday, officially launched Banks Beer and GT Beer in cans, marking a significant milestone in the company’s ongoing efforts to modernise its operations and respond to changing consumer preferences.

The introduction of the new canned products provides consumers with a more convenient and portable packaging option, while maintaining the quality and taste that have made the brands household names across Guyana.

Speaking at the launch, Brew Master Matthew Kendall said the move reflects the company’s commitment to innovation, consumer convenience, and investment in world-class beverage production, while reinforcing the strong Guyanese identity and heritage associated with both brands.

With the new products now available nationwide through supermarkets, retail outlets, bars, restaurants, entertainment venues and authorised distributors, Kendall said the move aims to bring two of the company’s flagship products to consumers in a modern, convenient, and portable package while preserving the same world-class quality and taste.

He stated, “This launch marks another milestone in the evolution of our operations and reflects the company’s continued commitment to innovation, consumer convenience and investment in world-class beverage production.”

Speaking on the legacy of Banks, Kendall said the new canned products honour the same recipe of selected malted barley, rice, and local water.

Recently awarded the prestigious Monde Selection Gold Quality Award, Banks Beer has received international recognition for its quality and consistency. This, Kendall noted, reinforces Banks’ position as a premium lager that meets global standards while remaining proudly Guyanese.

“Consumers can now enjoy the same great Banks Beer taste in a convenient can format that is ideal for sporting events, outdoor activities, entertainment ventures, social gatherings and occasions where portability and convenience matter most,” he said.

He further noted that joining Banks Beer in the new can format is GT Beer, a lager beer designed for consumers seeking a lighter, easy-drinking beer.

Speaking on the brewing process, Kendall said production will continue using premium two-row malted barley and a touch of coloured malt for its distinctive hue. While the brewing process remains unchanged, he noted, “Banks Beer and GT Beer will be available in 330ml cans nationwide through supermarkets, retail outlets, bars, restaurants, entertainment venues, and authorised distributors. Consumers will be able to purchase the products in convenient 24-, 12- and six-packs, providing greater flexibility for every occasion,” he said.

On the business front, Kendall said the canning line is about staying ahead of where consumers are heading, adding that the new line gives the company the capacity and flexibility to deliver more of the brands Guyanese love in a format they are increasingly preferring.

He further stated, “As Guyana continues to grow and evolve, Banks DIH Limited remains committed to delivering premium beverages that celebrate the nation’s heritage, culture and spirit while maintaining the highest standards of quality, craftsmanship and innovation.”

He added, “These products are proudly brewed and packaged in Guyana by a Guyanese company and enjoyed both locally and internationally. As we mark this important milestone, we invite everyone to raise a can and toast to brands that embody the pride, resilience, and character of our nation.”
