A 35-year-old labourer has been remanded to prison after being charged in connection with a break-and-enter-and-larceny committed against a Mon Repos businessman.

Danny Rajkumar of South Better Hope, East Coast Demerara, appeared before Principal Magistrate Judy Latchman at the Sparendaam Magistrate’s Court on Thursday, May 28, 2026, where the charge was read to him via Zoom.

Police said he was arrested on May 24 in connection with a break-and-enter-and-larceny committed sometime between May 23 and May 24 at Mon Repos, East Coast Demerara.

The charge was laid under Section 229(a) of the Criminal Law (Offences) Act, Chapter 8:01. Rajkumar pleaded not guilty and was remanded to prison after bail was refused.

The matter was adjourned to June 15, 2026.
