THE family of 36-year-old Dale Allicock, also known as “Rico,” is calling for a comprehensive and transparent investigation into what they described as his sudden and suspicious death at the Capoey Lake on March 26, 2026.

Relatives revealed that Allicock had returned home after work and reportedly found his partner socialising and drinking with relatives. What occurred afterwards remains unclear, deepening concerns among family members.

According to reports, Allicock’s mother, Linda Roberts, retired Headmistress of Zorg Nursery School, received a distressing call from a neighbour indicating that something was wrong.

She, along with other relatives, rushed to the home where they found him lying at the bottom of a staircase in a pool of blood. He was taken to the hospital but later died from his injuries.

The family suspects foul play and has raised questions about the version of events provided by his partner, who was reportedly detained for 72 hours before being released.

The woman allegedly told investigators that Allicock injured himself after striking a window, resulting in a cut to his upper left hand. However, relatives dispute this claim, asserting that they did not observe any damaged window at the scene.

Further concern has been raised over the woman’s alleged failure to immediately seek help or notify family members.

Relatives claim that she remained inside the house, and it was only about an hour and a half later that neighbours became aware of the situation and contacted the family.

Family members have also expressed frustration over delays in receiving the post-mortem report. Although the examination was conducted on March 30, they were initially informed that the results would be ready by early April.

However, during a follow-up at the police station on April 7, they were told the report was still to be uplifted from Georgetown. To date, the family says they have not received it.

Allicock, described as a talented and humble individual, was well known along the Essequibo Coast for his artistic skills, particularly his drawings.

His family is now urging law-enforcement authorities to thoroughly investigate the circumstances surrounding his death and to ensure that justice is served.
