A 14-year-old student of Kitty, Georgetown, is hospitalised after he was allegedly assaulted by a group of males on Thursday afternoon.

Police said the incident occurred about 16:00 hrs on March 12, 2026.

Preliminary investigations revealed that the teen was allegedly attacked by six males, who dealt him several kicks and cuffs about his body, causing him to receive injuries.

The injured student was taken to the Georgetown Public Hospital Corporation, where he remains admitted as a patient receiving medical treatment.

Police have since arrested a 17-year-old male of D’Urban Street, Wortmanville, Georgetown, who is suspected of being involved in the assault.

Investigations are ongoing.
