THE long-awaited commencement of the Stag Beer-sponsored, Troy Cook Memorial football competition, which is being hosted by Camptown Football Club, will become a reality with the first set of games scheduled for today at the host club’s ground.

In the first game, the Guyana Defence Force will come up against Georgetown Football Club at 18:00hrs and in the second game which kicks off at 20:00hrs Pele and Santos will clash, bringing back memories of yesteryear clashes in the Brazilian Cup.
Action continues on Friday at the same venue from 18:00hrs when Western Tigers and Riddim Squad collide in the feature game at 20:00hrs and hosts Camptown tackle Fruta Conquerors.
Semi-final action continues on Sunday, with the grand final taking place next Wednesday. Admission to the venue is $500, while patrons who wear a dominant colour of one of the teams competing on the night, will get a $200 reduction.
