COLIN Chesney showed that he is more than a powerlifter, strutting his stuff with precision, power and technique to capture his first Mr Guyana Senior Bodybuilding Championship title at the National Cultural Centre.
Chesney started off claiming a win in the super heavyweight category to earn the chance to be in the final pose off for a chance at the overall title.
He overcame Dwayne Mars in his category before capturing the master’s bodybuilding class later in the evening.
The master’s class was highly competitive as he went up against the likes of former Central American and Caribbean medallist Rawle Green and Delrae McLean as well as Donald Lindie.
He won over the judges to clinch his second category before going on to take the overall win and the Mr. Guyana title with his chiselled frame.
Shemar Burrowes copped the lightweight category while Kareem Bowmen was the top bodybuilder in the bantamweight class.
The welterweight class was won by Christopher Anthony who beat off stiff competition from Daniel Latchman and Martin Longe for the top spot.
Anthony returned to win classic physique for the short men and Delrae Mclean took the win for tall guys.
In the overall men’s physique Anthony again came out on top.
The middle weight was won by Delrae Mclean with Orlando Dublin taking the heavyweight class.
The men’s fitness was won by Romelton Siland with Warren George second and Kadeem Bowen third.
The men’s physique was claimed by Roley Chandler ahead of six other competitors with Yusuf Khan finishing in second place.
The new category, Fit Model was won by Siland for the men and Savita Boodhoo for the women.
The Miss Bikini winner was Christina Ramsammy while in the Bikini Wellness Melitha Anderson took that title.
In the kids’ fitness 12-14 Amariah Siland of Radical Gym was the top athlete, with Trinity Cole taking the 5-8 years old division.
