Three men are in custody following a robbery which occurred at about 19:45h on Sunday night at Princetown, Corriverton, Berbice, during which businessman Vikanand Narain and his daughter Natasha were attacked and robbed by three men, one of whom was armed with a handgun.
Police said Narain was closing his shop when the three men approached and requested to purchase cigarettes. They then held up Narain and his daughter, who was also in the shop, and took away $350,000 in cash, a quantity of jewellery, a laptop computer and four cell phones, after which they escaped.
During the incident, Narain was struck about his body and has been admitted a patient at the Springlands Hospital.
