Man, woman remanded on armed robbery, wounding charges

DANIEL Mohamed (no address given) appeared before Magistrate Judy Latchman yesterday, charged with robbery under arms and unlawful wounding.

The 25-year-old porkknocker pleaded not guilty to having, on August 8, at East Ruimveldt, Georgetown, being armed with a gun, robbed Andrew Barring of $16,000 and on Thursday, August 15, at East La Penitence, also in Georgetown, unlawfully and maliciously wounded the same virtual complainant.
Meanwhile, Keisha Abrams, of Lot 427 North Ruimveldt, also in the city, pleaded not guilty to a charge that said, on Sunday, August 18, at East La Penitence, too, she unlawfully and maliciously wounded Barring.
Police Sergeant Vishnu Hunt, prosecuting, said after the August 8 robbery was committed on Barring, Abrams took Mohamed to the home of the virtual complainant where wounds were inflicted on the victim’s chest with a surgical blade.
The prosecutor, successfully, objected to bail and both defendants were remanded to prison until September 20.
