Republic Bank Schools Football League…

DEFENDING champion Chase Academic Foundation started their defence with a victory when the Republic Bank’s Schools Football League kicked off in fine style on Sunday at the Ministry of Education Ground with four high octane matches.

Chase started off their 2025 campaign against Essequibo’s Abram Zuil Secondary. It was a highly-charged encounter but the champs stood tall to walk away winners 2-1 compliments of goals from Isaiah Ifill and Kennard Halley.

However, it was Abram Zuil’s Omar Kendall that put Chase on the back foot in the 14th minute with his opener before the two Chase strikes.

Next, Three Miles Secondary came from behind to defeat West Ruimveldt Secondary via a 2-1 victory.

Lebron Mendonca and Joshua James accounted for Three Miles’ goals in the 55th and 70th minutes as they edged their Georgetown opponents.

South Ruimveldt Secondary also stopped President’s College 2-1 in their contest.

Jadon Edwards and Tyrese Pemberton scored on either side of the break in the contest as they got the best possible start to their league campaign.

Daniel Alexander scored President’s College’s consolation goal.

Charlestown also whipped Dolphin 2-nil to conclude the day’s play and get their league off to a strong start with a victory.
