THE Guyana Police Force is investigating an armed robbery and shooting that occurred on Tuesday, October 14, 2025, at Howes and Ketley Streets, Charlestown.

According to a police report, two identifiable men, one of whom was armed with a handgun, confronted a 27-year-old mechanic and discharged several rounds, injuring him before robbing him of a gold chain. The suspects then escaped on a motorcycle.

The injured man was taken to the Georgetown Public Hospital Corporation (GPHC), where he is receiving medical attention. His condition has been listed as stable.

Police investigations are ongoing.
