THE Ministry of Health and other stakeholders will be launching a Health and Wellness Club later this year.

This was disclosed by Minister of Health Dr. Bheri Ramsarran as he delivered remarks at the 1st Convocation Ceremony of Cuban Trained Guyanese Doctors last Saturday at the International Conference Centre.
The Health Minister noted that they are a lot of persons especially the elderly folks and those that cannot access medical care in the country; so with this club they will take the medical attention to them; reach them in their homes or any other location that they may be present.
He made reference to the new batch of doctors that some of them will be placed in this Wellness Club, to function and that they will be travelling around the country to serve and help patients.
Dr Ramsaran elaborated further that Guyana’s health sector is growing and thus the Government of Guyana and the Health Ministry needs to improve also. He stated that the Health and Wellness Club is still in the planning stages but the organisers are having continuous meetings so that they can get everything right and the club will function properly and effectively.
Meanwhile, Dr Ramsarran also pointed out the Ministry will begin more outreaches to the far-fetched regions of Guyana.
He noted that the quality of medical attention is quality low and therefore something needs to be done because everyone deserves quality Health care.
Increased outreaches are scheduled to begin as early as next month the Health Minister stated.
