A STOLEN taxi was on Wednesday evening recovered by police after they responded to a report made shortly after the theft was carried out.
Police said at about 20:30 hours the motor car, HB 3625, belonging to taxi driver Andre Hill of Diamond, East Bank Demerara, was recovered intact.
At about 20:00 hours Wednesday night Hill was held at gunpoint by two men at Dadanawa Street, Campbellville, in the city, and robbed of the vehicle, a cell phone and $5,000.00.
Police said the victim had been hired by the men at Camp Street.
Ranks of a mobile police patrol, who responded to the report made, found the vehicle abandoned at Roxanne Burnham Garden, Greater Georgetown.
