COUNCILLOR of the Region 2 (Pomeroon/Supenaam) Regional Democratic Council (RDC), Mrs. Shanta Springer has called for the Supenaam to Parika speedboat service to introduce a system of recording the names of persons using it to enter and leaving the region. Speaking at the June statutory meeting, she said the operators must have proper records at all times, showing how many persons have left or entered the region on a daily basis on the speedboats.
Springer said there are records of commuters between Parika and Bartica and questioned why the Parika/Supenaam route is without any.
Region 2 Chairman, Mr. Parmanand Persaud agreed that such a practice should be in place and said he would discuss the matter with the speedboat operators. (Prabhulall)
