4-yr-old girl killed in Berbice accident : – struck dead by car on West Berbice public road

THE driver of a motorcar which struck down and killed a four-year-old girl on the West Coast Berbice public road on Tuesday morning was up to late yesterday assisting police in their investigations into the fatal accident. Trishel Williams, a pupil of Belladrum Nursery School, died following the accident outside her home at lot 9 Foulis Village, West Coast Berbice around 08:00 hrs Tuesday.
Mother of the child, Ms. Bevon Bobb, said her daughter was crossing the public road in company with three others when the accident occurred.
The child was rushed to the Fort Wellington Hospital where she was pronounced dead on arrival.
Ms. Bobb said that Trishel was one of four children and is survived by siblings Mark, 6; Akila, 1; and 4 months old Milton.
The father Kenneth Williams is a farmer and part-time labourer.
RDC Condolences
Meanwhile, head of the Regional Democratic Council of Region 5 (Mahaica/Berbice) Bindrabahn Bisnauth and other members of the Regional Administration visited the bereaved relatives and offered condolences.
The team from the RDC donated some food items to the parents and Bisnauth told them that the administration would try to assist them with some of the materials for the burial.
