AN arrest warrant was on Tuesday 18th June issued for Montel Lawerence at the Cove and John Magistrate’s Court, after he failed to present himself to defend an allegation of simple larceny that was leveled against him. According to the police, Lawerance, on Wednesday June 6 at Nabaclis, East Coast Demerara, stole thirty coconut palm leaves (pointer) brooms, valued $9,000, and which was the movable property of Rensford James.
After receiving no explanation for the absence of the accused pointer broom thief, Magistrate Zamilla Alli proceeded to issue a warrant for his arrest.
The matter will be called again at the Cove and John Magistrate’s Court on 30th July, 2013.
