Director of Finance, in the Ministry of Housing and Water, Mr. Taslim Baksh made the disclosure in a telephone interview yesterday, noting that homes to be on display are already being erected while other exhibitors have begun their groundwork.
He said they now have 100 exhibitors, including foreigners, who are happy to be a part of the exposition, the opening ceremony for which will take place, from 17:30 hrs on July 5, at the Guyana National Stadium, Providence, East Bank Demerara.
On July 6 and 7, the exhibition will be open to the general public from 14:00 hrs to midnight.
Entry tickets will be available from next Monday at the Housing Ministry, costing $300 for adults while children under 12 would be admitted free of charge.
The International Building Expo is a unique partnership between the Government of Guyana, specifically the Ministry of Housing and Water, Central Housing and Planning Authority, the private sector and stakeholders in the construction and other sectors relevant to urban development.
This year, the ministry aims to consolidate and expand the various partnerships that have been established over the years, as it seeks to maintain the momentum in the housing, construction and other areas involved in housing development, with the objective of securing and ensuring sustainability in Guyana.
