Cops to seek legal advice over Chinese road fatality

POLICE said yesterday that they will be drafting a report to seek legal advice in the case of Chinese national Feng Xue Fang who was fatally struck down last Friday by a taxi that was reportedly speeding.

Police Public Relations, Officer  Ivelaw Whittaker told Guyana Chronicle that the post-mortem results revealed that Xue Fang had died from multiple injuries. He said that the Chinese national was cremated on Tuesday.
According to reports, Feng Xue Fang, 42, of 195 Mandela Avenue was hit by a car, HC 2408, while she was crossing the road. The car, attached to Green Ice Taxi Service, was headed west when it collided with Fang. Eyewitnesses said that they saw the woman’s body being flung into the air and landing some 60 feet from where she was first struck.
Meanwhile, it was reported that Xue Fang and her sister were brutally beaten and robbed by three gunmen the night before. According to the police investigations are ongoing.
