A FATAL accident occurred at Number 37 Village, West Coast Berbice at about 20:15 hrs on May 12, 2013, and resulted in the death of an unidentified female pedestrian of East Indian descent. The victim was approximately 5ft. 4 inches tall, was slim built, brown complexioned, and was clad in a dark grey top, blue jeans and a pair of pink slippers. Police investigations have revealed that the driver of motor vehicle PMM 8310 was proceeding along the roadway at an allegedly fast rate when the vehicle collided with the pedestrian. She was rushed to the Fort Wellington Hospital, but was pronounced dead on arrival. Her body is at the hospital mortuary.
 
The driver has been arrested and is assisting with the investigations.
