AFTER serving with distinction in the Parliament of Guyana for 13 years, members of the National Assembly Tuesday evening bade farewell to Deputy Clerk, Lilowatie Coonjah, who will proceed on pre-retirement leave with effect from May 10.
Coonjah has given 44 continuous years of service to the public sector. She will be proceeding on full retirement from June 1.
Prime Minister and Leader of the House, Samuel Hinds, Opposition Leader David Granger and Leader of the AFC Khemraj Ramjattan all expressed their gratitude and appreciation to Coonjah for her dedicated service to the National Assembly, and to the nation as a whole.
Meanwhile, the process of identifying a replacement has already commenced and is expected to be concluded shortly.
