Bent Street murder trial begins with voir dire

JUSTICE Brassington Reynolds,yesterday, began conducting a voir dire (a trial within a trial) in the Bent Street murder trial to determine the  admissibility of an alleged caution statement by the accused Al Wilson.       The judge  decided to  conduct the  voir dire  after  the accused,  represented  by  Attorney-at-law  Nigel Hughes, in association with Miss Kendaise Rodney, objected to the alleged caution statement by the State.
Prosecutors Diana Kaulesar and Natasha Backer are prosecuting.
Inspector Cecil Gravesande was one of the witnesses called yesterday as the small trial continued in the absence of the jury.
Al Wilson of 34 Princes Street, Wortmanville is accused of the murder of Jamal Clarke on the 5th of September, 2009. The trial is continuing.
