Perez guides DCC ‘A’ to fourth successive GCA/Brain Street U-15 title

PUGNACIOUS batting from 13-year-old Raymond Perez guided Demerara Cricket Club (DCC) ‘A’ to their fourth successive Georgetown Cricket Association (GCA) Brain Street-sponsored Under-15 league title, following their commanding win over Queen’s College (QC) yesterday.

Playing at the Guyana National Industrial Corporation ground, QC batted first and were bowled out for 145 off 49 overs, with only Clarence Baird’s 62 offering resistance to the bowling of Sagar Hetheramani and Ato Jones who took 3 wickets each for 25 and 37 runs respectively and Ashmead Nedd’s 2 for 19.
In reply, the defending champions who for the past three years have dominated this level of cricket in Georgetown, stamped their authority on the Thomas Lands and Camp Road-based school team with an imposing 146 for 1 off 22 overs, Perez contributing 95 (8×4, 6×6) and Clevon McEwan and unbeaten 28.
