THE two semi-final matches in the Georgetown Football Association’s Banks Premium Beer knockout tournament is set for Sunday at the Tucville ground.
The opening match which is scheduled to get under way from 18:00 h will bring together Fruta Conquerors and Sunburst Camptown, while from 20:00 h, Alpha United will take on GDF.
Fruta Conquerors registered a 5-0 win against Thomas United to advance to the semi-final round, while Sunburst Camptown defeated Santos 2-1 to advance to this round.
Alpha United, on the other hand, recorded a 5-0 win against UG and GDF beat Pele 2-0 to advance.
The final and third place playoff will be staged on March 19 at the same venue.
The highest goals scorer to date in the competition is Stellon David of GDF who has so far recorded four goals.
Nine other players have al registered two goals each. They are: Camptown’s Kwame La Fleur and Telson McKinnon, Fruta Conquerors’ Manasseh Primo, GFC’s Michael Rowe, Pele’s Calvin Shepherd, Mervin Joseph and Travis Grant and GDF’s Warren Gilkes and Otis Mitchell.
Forty-five goals have so far been scored in the competition with GDf leading the way with 10 of them.
Pele recorded eight, while GFC scored seven.
Camptown, Fruta Conquerors and Alpha United have all scored five goals each while Santos scored three and Kitty Rangers and Uprising one each.
