Fudadin and Adams drafted in

WHEN Guyana take on double defending champions Jamaica in their crucial seventh and final round encounter in this year’s West Indies Cricket Board (WICB) Super50 tournament tomorrow at the Guyana National Stadium, they will be doing so without the services of their two West Indies middle order batsmen, Ramnaresh Sarwan and Shivnarine Chanderpaul.

The duo, who participated in the three-wicket win over Combined Campuses and Colleges at the same venue Thursday night, have departed these shores for England, where they will be honouring county contracts with Leicestershire and Derbyshire respectively.
Their places will be filled by Assad Fudadin, another West Indies middle order batsman and the hard-hitting West Indies Under-19 hopeful Ricardo Adams and while Fudadin will be brimming with confidence, following his man-of-the-match performance in the four-day win over CCC, Adams will be hoping to make his debut.
Guyana’s 13-man squad for that game which they must win in order to make the final four to be hosted in Barbados reads: Veerasammy Permaul (captain), Trevon Griffith, Assad Fudadin, Narsingh Deonarine, Steven Jacobs, Ricardo Adams, Leon Johnson, Anthony Bramble, Rajiv Ivan, Zaheer Mohammed-Shadir, Devendra Bishoo, Paul Wintz and Ronsford Beaton.
