POLICE reported yesterday that they had arrested another suspect in the Mashramani Day murder of Kumar Mohamed, of Enterprise, East Coast Demerara, who was fatally stabbed by a group of men on Vlissengen Road, Georgetown; his brother, a minibus driver who went to his aid, was injured in the attack. The suspect, who was positively identified by a witness, is in police custody and is expected to appear in court today.
Mohamed was reportedly visiting a liquor bar to make a purchase on Mashramani Day when he became involved in a confrontation with a group of men after an argument. His assailants stabbed him about the body with broken bottles, and when his brother rushed to his aid, he also was stabbed. They were later taken to a private hospital in the city, where Mohammed succumbed to his injuries and his brother was treated and discharged.
