Police destroy Demerara River ganja farms, two men arrested

Police on Thursday, during a drug eradication exercise in the Demerara River area, arrested two men and destroyed about four acres of marijuana plants. According to a police press release, marijuana plants between three feet and 10 feet in height, along with 200 kilograms of dried marijuana, approximately 10,000 seedlings and two camps were destroyed.
The operations took place at Hauraruni Creek and Kamuni Creek, Demerara River.
The two men will be charged shortly, police said.
