The funeral of late Region 3 Chairman and People’s Progressive Party (PPP) veteran, Pariag Sukahai will take place today at the Ruimzeight Cremation Site, West Coast Demerara. Sukhai joined the People’s Progressive Party in 1953 and stayed with the party until his death. During his political career he worked as an organiser of both the PPP and the Guyana Agricultural and General Workers Union (GAWU). He was a one time executive member of the party and a former Member of Parliament.
Sukahai also was General Secretary of the Guyana Rice Producers Association (RPA) and the Guyana Agricultural Producers Association (GAPA) and a a very active member of the Justices of the Peace and Commissioner of Oaths Association.
