Quarterfinals action tonight in East Coast Guinness Greatest of the Street football

THE ever-entertaining Guinness Greatest of the Street continued to captivate and draw massive crowds during its East Coast leg as the final set of preliminary matches were contested on Sunday last at the Haslington Market Tarmac. The quarterfinals will take place tonight at the same venue.

In the first quarterfinal showdown at 20.00hrs Plaisance take on BV B then BV A tackle Buxton A in the second match at 21.00hrs.
Victoria Church Yard United battle with Paradise in the third scheduled knockout match from 10:00hrs and the night wraps up with Victoria Eagles doing battle with Melanie A from 11:00hrs.
On Sunday night, a total of eight matches were played in front of a mammoth crowd where Delroy Deen once again took centre stage, scoring twice in BV A’s 2-1 win over Paradise.
Deen’s double in the 4th and 14th minutes ensured that his side advance to today’s quarter finals which will take place at the same venue.
Meanwhile in other results, Melanie A were 2-0 victors over Ann’s Grove Punters in the opening game of the night, with goals coming from Shermon Fraser and Darwayne Peters in the 7th and 12th minutes respectively.
Gollex Gouveia was the lone marksman for Victoria Church Yard and his single strike was good enough to see them past Mahaica.
